Only the Label:

What is Only the Label?

Only the Label is an independent music label dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging artists across various genres. We provide a platform for musicians to showcase their work and connect with a wider audience.

How do I join the label and what are the criteria?

Please review the criteria by reading the documentation here

How do I submit music to the Label

First, upload your music on Bandcamp:

  1. Click + add in the top toolbar to add a new track or album. Not seeing that button? You probably have a fan account instead of an artist account. Log out, then sign up for an artist account here. If you have a draft or another release you are already working on, go to its album or track page and click the “Edit” button beneath the title.
  2. Make sure that your files meet our upload requirements:

Your audio files must be at least 16-bit, 44.1 kHz lossless files (WAV, AIFF, or FLAC), in stereo (no mono- or multi-channel audio).

Do not upsample from MP3s. Please re-export the file from your music editing software in a lossless format like WAV, AIFF, or FLAC.
  3. Click add tracks or add audio in the editor.
  4. Choose the audio file from your computer that you want to upload.
  5. Save your draft.
  6. Once the album or track is all set up and ready to go, choose the “public” option and “publish”. Rejoice
  7. Once artists have joined the label, they will continue to upload music to their artist Bandcamp page as per normal.

What genres does Only the Label focus on?

Only the Label is open to a diverse range of genres, including but not limited to pop, hip-hop, country, rock, electronic, and indie. We appreciate and celebrate musical diversity.

How does Only the Label support its artists?

We provide our artists with a range of support that includes: a stage for their music via Indie Music Hunt, a showcase on OTL Bandcamp, banner blasts on social media, promotional material, "Only The Band" pages, and merchandise available through the Only The Host website. Our goal is to help artists grow and succeed in the music industry.

Is Only the Label open to international artists?

Absolutely! Only the Label welcomes artist submissions from around the world. We believe in the power of global collaboration and diversity in music.

How does Only the Label handle royalties and payments?

The artist releases all music via their Bandcamp artist page. If the artist selects their own PayPal as the payment method, 100% of proceeds will go to the artist. If the artist selects the Only The Label(OTL) PayPal, proceeds go towards funding the label. This decision is reversible at any time.

Please also note that the music released hear is non-exclusive, and it does not compromise the freedom to release your music in any platform you might wish to use.

Bandcamp Fair Trade Music Policy

Bandcamp believes that music is an indispensable part of culture, and for that culture to thrive, artists must be compensated fairly and transparently for their work. We’re proud of the fact that when you choose to pay an artist on Bandcamp, your money reaches them quickly, and in a way that is simple to explain and understand. Our business, which was founded in 2008, is based on taking a revenue share of sales. Our share is 15% on digital items, and 10% on physical goods. Payment processor fees are separate and vary depending on the size of the transaction, but for an average size purchase, amount to an additional 4-7%. The remainder, usually 80-85%, goes directly to the artist or their label, and we pay out daily.
