Izamanya's latest EP, "Next", is a testament to the band's knack for blending different eras of rock music. From the opening track, the EP seizes attention with intense, heavy guitars, and a rhythm section that holds nothing back. However, what truly takes you aback is the voice that complements the band's rock instrumentals. It is surreal how perfectly it melds with the heavy music, creating an almost magical fusion.
The EP's standout track, "Back Life", brings to mind some of the best rock hits of the 70s and 80s, with its massive guitar sound, driving rhythm, and soaring vocals. Yet, it still manages to carve out its own unique place in today's music landscape.
The song "Speed" showcases the band's talent for intriguing and dynamic transitions, while the final track, "Beam Me Over", exhibits a completely different side of Izamanya. The tempo slows down dramatically, and the focus shifts to a beautiful interplay between guitar and vocal melodies. Each song on the EP forms a cog in a well-oiled machine, with every track contributing to a cohesive, satisfying whole.
The Swiss rock/metal outfit, Izamanya, has been active in the music scene since 2017, rocking numerous gigs at home and internationally. The band consists of Iza Loosli, Many Maurer, and Peter Haas, each bringing their own wealth of experience and talent. Iza's expressive voice lends the band its distinctive sound, while Many, an experienced musician, former member of the band Krokus, and successful producer, songwriter & engineer, brings his mastery of guitar and bass. Peter Haas, who has collaborated with Many since the Krokus-era, expertly helms the drum kit.
The band is currently working on their upcoming EP 'Suction' and a vinyl album titled 'Massive', proving their commitment to continually pushing their creative boundaries.
Izamanya's "Next" EP is a fine example of the band's ability to merge the classic and the modern, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. It's an offering that is sure to please rock enthusiasts of all ages. If you're looking for an EP that combines the intensity of hard rock with beautifully crafted melodies, then Izamanya's "Next" should be on your playlist.
