Welcome to Audio Quest! The first of its kind global-scale QR code scavenger hunt for underground music. This is a free, community driven project, which is open to all artists! The idea is simple: join the network of musicians, post the code in your local area, get discovered.
We are taking a stand against internet gatekeeping and taking to the streets for a direct connection with potential fans. This project is the definition of thinking globally and acting locally. Single streets in major cities around the world see millions in foot traffic on an average week. Why not put our music there? On a global scale this could expose us to billions of passersby.
However, it's not all about volume, a big part of this concept is to create a more meaningful connection between listeners and artists compared to other methods of discovery. Which is why part of the fun is hiding these flyers in peculiar or meaningful places where most people wouldn't find them, but those who do form a memorable connection with the music when they discover it!
Make it personal - choose a location you love to go, write a note to the person who finds it, sign your autograph, or even draw them a picture! The goal is to make an impression and find your way into people's hearts in a way that you just can't with other methods of discovery.
Inclusion on a Spotify editorial playlist is like winning the lottery, but even when it does happen the benefits are often short lived, and sadly the boost in streams usually goes away as quickly as it came. This project might not lead to a huge swarm of new listeners overnight like Spotify can, but it will find a new base of dedicated fans who will always remember how they discovered your music.
As Audio Quest grows and picks up momentum the dream is to evolve into an infinite odyssey for music lovers always in search of unique QR codes leading to individual musicians featuring exclusive content and random goodies that can only be accessed through these unique codes. There will always be more to discover, and the quest will never end.
